Tech Networks of Boston (also known as “TNB”) hosts Roundtable sessions every other Friday afternoon; these are informal discussions and presentations, on a wide range of topics of interest to TNB’s staff, nonprofit clients, and friends. We hope that you will join us for our next session, which Third Sector New England is co-hosting with us at Boston’s NonProfit Center.
On November 21st, our Roundtable session will be on improving nonprofit accounting through collaboration. Our featured guests will be Donna Pina Robinson (from Community Catalyst and Health Care For All), and Nicole Wright and Thomas Ball (from Barrington Wright Associates). These three bring to the table many years of collaborating to ensure that Community Catalyst and Health Care For All’s accounting and finance operations are smooth and effective.
In this session, Donna, Nicole, and Tom will raise some crucial questions:
What are the benefits to having a long-term collaborative working relationship with outside professionals for assistance and expertise in accounting and financial operations?
What are some of the best practices and potential pitfalls to keep in mind?
How can you determine if this type of collaboration might, or might not, work well for your organization?
Our featured guests will kick off what we hope to be a lively discussion, by giving their thoughts on these questions and more. They’ll start with a brief overview of the collaborative working relationship Community Catalyst and Health Care for All have had with Barrington Wright Associates for over ten years. We know that many local nonprofits have, or are considering, a similar arrangement. We’d love to hear your thoughts and perspective, so, please join us as we all share our thoughts and experience on this interesting topic.
