Tech Networks of Boston, the Mel King Institute, MassCap and UMass Boston College of Community and Public Service would like to invite you to a
hands-on training with Georges Grinstien on July 15.
Do you struggle with sharing your organization’s impact and story? Join us for an interactive workshop on data visualization for nonprofit organizations. The training will provide an overview of how to think about data and how to use free or inexpensive tools to make eye-catching visuals that promote your success.
Attendees will bring laptops and will be encouraged to use data sets from their own programs to work interactively with the instructor, his students and staff, the group that developed Weave a free data analysis and visualization environment. If the data set contains personal or proprietary information consider anonymizing it. If you do not have a data set you want to being or use, there will several provided that you can choose from.
This training is geared towards professionals at nonprofits who are collecting outcomes and are ready to use data visualization in their communications and fundraising initiatives. Participants should have at least a basic knowledge of using spreadsheets, an understanding of their organization’s outcomes data and some basic experience in creating charts or other data visualizations.
