The Mayor’s Rose Garden Party is an elegant evening social event which raises money for a series of free participatory and performing arts
events and workshops throughout Boston’s parks
• Venue: the Kelleher Rose Garden in the Back Bay Fens when 3,000 rose bushes are at
peak bloom
• Fare: passed hors d’oeuvres, buffet and complimentary libations
• Features: live entertainment with a spirited, creative hat contest in a garden-party setting; live and silent auction, en plein air painting demonstration
• Attendees: Boston’s business, arts, community, educational, and philanthropic leaders, etc.
• Cause: proceeds from the ticketed event directly fund free programming in neighborhood parks throughout the city
• Committee: Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Ms. Lorrie Higgins serve as Honorary EventCo-Chairs of the Rose Garden Committee, which is comprised of arts institutions directors, business leaders, university presidents and supporters of children’s
enrichment programming, all who support increased awareness of the arts in our community
