On Friday, Oct. 16, foodies will unite and enjoy a dine-around experience generously donated by local restaurants and paired with wine and craft beer during Party Under the Harvest Moon, an annual benefit for Food For Free.
Attendees will enjoy live music from rhythm and roots band, One Thin Dime, as well as bites from eateries like Cambridge Brewing Co, Dave’s Fresh Pasta, Emma’s Pizza, Nubar, Petsi’s Pies, Redbones Barbeque, Russell House Tavern, Viale and many more. Guests can also bid to win auction items for vacation get-a-ways, beer school experiences, private chef dinners made to order in your home and more.
Car Talk’s Ray Magliozzi, WBUR’s Here and Now host Robin Young and owner of the Comedy Studio, Rick Jenkins will lead the evening, serving as the night’s emcees and special guests.
Since 1981, Cambridge based Food For Free has responded to local hunger by rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste, and distributing it to local emergency food programs including food pantries, youth programs, shelters, and more. Food For Free feeds more than 25,000 families annually in Greater Boston and beyond through a combination of food rescue, farming, and backpack and transportation programs, year-round.
Party Under the Harvest Moon will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at MIT’s Morse Hall, Walker Memorial Building at 142 Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Mass. Tickets are $65 each, or two for $100 through September 30, and $75 each as of October 1. Bring a party of six for a discounted rate of $270.
