The mission of KIPP Academy Boston and KIPP Academy Lynn Public Charter Schools, collectively “KIPP Massachusetts,” is to create a school environment where students develop the academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits necessary to maximize their potential in high school, college and the world beyond.
We educate the students and families in Lynn and Boston’s most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, wherever the achievement gap persists, serving student demographics that mirror those of neighborhood schools in terms of race, socioeconomic status, English Language Learners, and Special Education students.
Our promise to students and families is that their children will enter college able to thrive academically due to their literacy, numeracy, and core knowledge in science and social studies. We also promise that our students will develop the zest for learning and grit necessary to persevere as they climb the mountain to and through college. These students will be able to return to their community as teachers, leaders, and architects of continued growth in Lynn and Boston.
The KIPP MA 10K is a great opportunity to bring the family out for a day of fitness and fun in support of our students. There will be attractions for those who do not wish to take part in the race.
Community Section: There will be tables located where racers and spectators can learn about organizations making a positive impact on the Lynn community.
Nahant Beach Playground: There is a playground next to the starting line for those who would like to bring their families out to show support.
*All proceeds from the event will be used for direct student expenses.
Running is always better with a view! The KIPP MA 10K comes with a beautiful, scenic view of the ocean along the route. The race will begin at the Nahant Beach and Playground (Nahant Road, Nahant, MA) and will continue along Nahat Road to the turn-around point at 40 Steps (386 Nahant Road, Nahant, MA)
*Once runners get into Nahant, about 3 Km into the course, the sidewalk reduces in width. Runners should take the necessary precaution to maintain their safety.
