On Nov. 3, hundreds of people will gather for the second annual JBC Fest to support families living with PANS & PANDAS, medical conditions that affect an estimated one in 200 children. The fundraising event, which is for adults only, is hosted by the JBC PANS & PANDAS Foundation. It will be held from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at iGolf in Pembroke and will feature fun games and activities including virtual golf tournaments, pool, corn hole, ping pong, an auction, raffles and more.
The JBC PANS & PANDAS Foundation is a conduit for change in the way that infectious triggered neuropsychiatric disorders (PANS/PANDAS) are diagnosed, treated, researched and financially supported. The organization provides information to families about what their children are enduring and how to find the proper medical care and treatments, and then helps them afford the treatment through grants. The JBC PANS & PANDAS Foundation also provides a community of support so families do not feel alone.
Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus (P.A.N.D.A.S.) or Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (P.A.N.S) are often misdiagnosed by medical professionals. These autoimmune disorders cause life-changing neuropsychiatric symptoms such as OCD, tics, anxiety, rage, depression, insomnia and deterioration in school performance, and more.
The event aims to raise $250,000. An anonymous donor will match dollar to dollar up to $100,000. Tickets for the 2023 JBC Fest are now on sale and cost $100. Proceeds raised will go to support families of children and young adults with PANS/PANDAS. To purchase tickets or become a sponsor, please visit https://www.jbcfund.org/fundraising/#jbcfest.
