Hannah DeFelice and I will be running together as one team for 26.2 miles. Hannah is DeafBlind and we will be running together as a team. I will be Hannah’s guide runner. Our goal running as a team is to show we CAN come together and make fitness a more accessible space for people of all abilities. We are so happy to partner with Play Brigade which is a nonprofit dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities in fitness, play, recreation, and sports, so people of all abilities can participate and belong.

All the money we will raise through The Play Brigade goes directly back into the Boston community. Some projects they have completed include:

-Donating $45,000 to the City of Boston Department of Parks and Recreation to provide inclusive playground equipment in an accessible picnic grove in Boston’s Franklin Park.

-Creating the Boston Compact for Community Inclusion in partnership with former VP of Special Olympics International and former program director of the National Inclusion Project.

-Advising on the design of flagship all-abilities playgrounds in Boston and Brookline.

-Organizing the first “all-comers” race in Boston with the Play Brigade 5K.If you can, a donation of any amount will go a long way to help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000.

Your generosity will make a significant difference and also will help spread awareness on accessibility and inclusivity, thank you.
