Founded in 1970, South Shore Stars provides early-education and youth programs to 1,200 children, ranging from birth to age 18. We operate with a guiding belief that with support, compassion and encouragement, all children can reach their full potential. Fundraising is critical to our success, and to further our mission, our 2019 Gala will again honor “Rising Stars” – leaders in their field and in the South Shore community – who value our mission and our impact on South Shore children.
Since 2010, Stars has honored individuals for making a difference as mentors and leaders in their professions and in their communities (formerly known as the 40 UNDER 40 AWARDS). This year, we anticipate another sellout, with over 200 people coming together to celebrate these inspiring individuals, as well as 49 years of Stars providing quality early-education and youth development programs.
The nomination process will remain open until March 22, 2019. Awardees will be honored publicly at our Rising Stars benefit on May 1, 2019.
All nominees must live or work in the South Shore. There is no age limitation. Honorees will be chosen based on the quality of the nomination submitted, not the quantity of nominations.
