There are more than 7,000 children of all ages from throughout Massachusetts who need someone to provide a safe, stable and nurturing home until they can return to their families. The Home for Little Wanderers hosts free Foster Care Information Sessions to help local residents learn how to become a foster parent. The Home for Little Wanderers — the nation’s oldest child welfare agency and one of the largest in New England — hosts regular information session for adults who are considering foster parenting at The Home for Little Wanderers, 50 Redfield Street, Dorchester, MA on:
Saturday, March 28, 2015, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Each session will explore why children are placed in Intensive Foster Care, the process of becoming a professional foster parent, the support The Home will provide to foster parents and what providing a safe haven for children in foster care involves. A question and answer period will be offered. The Home welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) couples and individuals, regardless of marital status, to be considered as foster and adoptive parents. To register and learn about the criteria to become a foster parent, visit www.thehome.org/fostercare or contact Lucy Collins by phone at 508-364-8045 or by email at lcollins@thehome.org.
