Please plan to join us on Thursday, December 11, 2014 when the International Institute of New England’s Lowell Office honors Luis Pedroso with the Institute’s First American Dream Award.
The American Dream Award is presented to an individual who embodies the work ethic, ingenuity and generosity that are hallmarks of the immigrant experience. Having once been a client of the International Institute, Luis has established himself as an innovative job creator and an investor in the future of our community. He has indeed lived a life of reputation and service.
The event will feature the unveiling of an interactive timeline exploring the immigrant history of Lowell over the last 100 years. Incorporating files from over 5,000 families served by the International Institute’s Lowell office since 1918, the event will provide opportunities to weave together multiple generations. Bring your own family stories to add to the fabric!
The International Institute of Lowell was founded in 1918 in response to a large influx of European immigrants into the Lowell area. Today, as a part of the International Institute of New England’s regional network, we continue to support the needs of our community’s newest arrivals with services that include education, employment, citizenship and health services. Annually, our programs impact over 1500 individuals and their families.
