Dream Street is a camp for children with chronic, life-threatening, and terminal illnesses. For one week each summer, we strive to provide a magical experience to kids who would otherwise miss out on what should be the guaranteed rights of childhood. We provide for sicker children than any other camp can; volunteer medical staff is available 24 hours a day to dispense medications and offer care that the children could not receive at any other sleep-away camp. Volunteer counselors ensure that the campers simply get to be kids.
All contributions go directly to the camping programs so that camp may be free of charge for all children, most of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. Volunteers donate their time and travel at their own expense to participate in the program. Even the medications are donated. Still, the camp is not in a financial position to fly kids from across the country out to sunny California. It is the mission of the Dream Street East Coast Volunteer Group to ensure that children from our New England community have the opportunity to experience the dream.
Dream Street does not fund salaries and is a public 501(c) (3) non-profit organization (Federal Tax Identification #95-4210774). All contributions are tax-deductible.
