The Lupus Foundation of America will host its 2015 Walk to End Lupus Now™ event in Boston on Saturday, October 24th on the Boston Common -Parkman Bandstand. The event will feature appearances by the Patriots Cheerleaders and lupus experts, Dr. Karen H. Costenbader of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dr. George Tsokos of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
The largest lupus walk program in the country, Walk to End Lupus Now events are held in more than 60 cities, bringing together community members — people with lupus, friends, families, health care providers and celebrities — to raise money for lupus research and education programs, increase awareness of the disease and rally public support for those who feel its brutal impact.
“I walk for my God daughter, Evette. I’m humbled and honored to be named Honorary Chair of Walk to End Lupus Now in Boston,” said Juan Lopez, Boston City Council central staff and host of Politica Entre Amigos on WCEA – TV. “We need to bring greater attention and awareness to this under-recognized disease to the community of Boston.”
