Cambridge Family & Children’s Service (CFCS) Residential Services that serve the most vulnerable youth in state custody: adolescents ages 16-22 who have not been reunified with their families or adopted, and are poised to age out with little support.
- Two group homes, in Dorchester (for young men) and Malden (for young women), are staffed 24/7 by trained direct-care providers and offer a wide range of services, including counseling, support, and advocacy.
- The Independent Living Program helps young adults who have “graduated” from these homes live in community-based apartments. Through weekly skill-building sessions, young people increase their self-reliance, develop increased self-esteem, and ultimately become better prepared for success with school, work, and relationships.
