The Massachusetts Oyster Project is a nonprofit organization working to strengthen our coastal environment by restoring native shellfish populations to our beaches and coastal estuaries. With your help, we’ll be able to expand our shell recycling program in Wellfleet and beyond, and add more upwellers (nurseries for baby oysters) so we can get more oysters into Massachusetts waters.
Oysters provide important environmental services, like improving shoreline resilience and water quality. Did you know that one oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day?
About the Event
Our event will take place at Community Rowing’s beautiful outdoor space, located on the scenic Charles River. We will have live music, games, and libations to keep the good vibes flowing, a food truck serving up delicious eats, and local oyster farmers shucking oysters on the half shell.
The event is open to all ages, so bring your family.
