Join us for our first in person event in two years! We plan to recognize three members of the our community for their contributions in assisting foodservice workers during the pandemic and beyond in what will become an annual event. James Beard award winning Chef Frank McClelland has agreed to be our host for the evening as we gather once again to eat, celebrate, and reflect.
Chef Frank has developed a 4 course menu just for us. Your ticket includes that menu, including tax and gratuity. Cash bar will be available as well. 30% of each ticket sold will be donated to Behind You to support our mission of assisting foodservice employees in crisis from Beverly, Lynn, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott.
This year, at our first annual event, we are recognizing:
Marshall Strauss, for agreeing to connect us with one of his organizations to act our Behind You’s fiscal sponsor. Without this tremendous help, we would not have been able accept and disburse nearly as much as we did during the height of the pandemic.
Notch Brewing, for their unwavering support prior to, and during the pandemic. Notch Brewing raised nearly $20,000 for Behind You. This support was unsolicited and immediate.
Toast, Inc., for their support of the restaurant community using the tools at their disposal: Without being asked, Toast waived a number of monthly charged for their restaurateur customers, allowing them to more easily keep the lights on. Then, when RRF funding became available, Toast created a pathway for their customers to apply for grant money using a simplied and expedited process. Toast also made their online ordering solution available for free early in the pandemic to help restaurateurs more easily pivot to take out.
