The Samaritans of Merrimack Valley, a program of Family Services of the Merrimack Valley, was founded in 1980. Through their 24/7 toll-free crisis helpline, trained volunteers offer emotional support to callers. As a suicide prevention center, Samaritans offers numerous trainings and workshops to educate the community on suicide awareness and prevention. They also provide support services for suicide loss survivors and suicide attempt survivors. Postvention services following a suicide death are also offered by Samaritans of Merrimack Valley.
What
1.5 mile walk to show support for those affected by suicide and raise awareness of the issue.
Guest Speaker: Senator Barbara L’Italien will kick off the event. Music will be provided by Irish signer Mossie Coughlan.
