The MAPS Awards Gala includes a ballroom banquet, an awards ceremony honoring notable and influential community leaders, a Red Carpet arrival and cocktail hour, entertainment (at least 3 different musical groups), and much more for up to 400 guests including key representatives from the Brazilian, Cabo Verdean and Portuguese communities, as well as public officials, dignitaries, business leaders and media members. The agency is proud to honor Joseph Curtatone, the Mayor of Somerville with the MAPS Person of the Year award. MAPS assists many low-income immigrants and their families who are seeking a better life. We offer a host of health and human services to Portuguese speakers and others including assistance with health insurance access and enrollment, citizenship, housing searches, employment, translation services, and much more.
