The Charles River Conservancy is collaborating with Google to bring the public an exciting new “view” of the Charles River. As part of the Conservancy’s River Stories project, Google provided their high-tech Trekker camera (the “rugged” counterpart to the street-view car camera) to capture imagery along the banks of the river, including on-water views.
The special collection of footage will be incorporated into the public event on December 10th, when Google will also be hosting one of their popular Google Talks event for the Conservancy’s River Stories III. Authors of River Stories will be on hand to share memories of the river, and Google will showcase their favorite locations along the river banks. We are very excited to announce that WBUR’s Tom Ashbrook will serve as our moderator!
